5 reasons to attend Elevate 2017

The deadline for Elevate 2017 is quickly approaching. Join the festivities and take part in some of the profession’s finest traditions. Here are five reasons to not miss the May 19 registration deadline, and join the celebration from May 27 –  June 3.

  1. Earn PD Hours in a fun, informative environment. Change and disruption are a common part of the marketplace. Join your colleagues at the Accountability Summit and gain new skills and insights to make change an opportunity for growth. Learn how to maximize your ability to lead, motivate your colleagues, and create new possibilities from the chaos. This years’ theme is Disruption: An opportunity.
  2. Nurture your mind, body, and spirit at the CPA Assist Elevate Dinner. Hear firsthand the personal experiences of someone who has struggled with bipolar disorder for most of her life. Guest speaker Margaret Trudeau will discuss her mental health journey, and attendees will leave with a new understanding of the in some importance of nurturing the body, mind, and spirit.
  3. Hear from Alberta’s Auditor General, Merwan Saher. Merwan’s presentation, titled “The 21st-Century Auditor General,” provides an informed glimpse into an emerging new strategic vision for the Auditor General and how his Office can and does make a difference in the lives of Albertans. See Merwan at the CPA Elevate Breakfast in Edmonton on May 29.
  4. Take in some fresh air on fairways with colleagues, clients, and friends at the Calgary Chapter of CPAs Golf Tournament. A shotgun start and Texas Scramble format ensures a timely and fun round for all, regardless of ability. Following a great afternoon on the links, join us for a mouth-watering BBQ dinner as we announce tournament winners and hand out prizes!
  5. Celebrate and Dance at the CPA Alberta Awards Gala!  Come for the celebration, stay for the dancing. Side One — an energetic, engaging, and award-winning dance band — will perform old classics to modern contemporary songs after the awards program. Their repertoire includes Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga, The Beatles, Pitbull, and Queen, to name just a few.
