As Alberta’s unemployment rate continues to rise, working professionals are finding it harder to find a job in their chosen field, some CPAs included. Indeed, these are trying times for all Albertans, and while it’s not exactly breaking news anymore, the reality is that nobody knows how long it will last.

CPA Alberta Career Services

CPA Alberta offers a variety of services that can help those Alberta CPAs who find themselves unemployed or under-employed get back to meaningful work as quickly as possible. From workshops to resume review services, job opportunities to career resources, CPA Alberta is committed to assisting Alberta CPAs in developing their careers.

The GoldMind Project

One of those is the GoldMind Project, which is a grassroots movement supported by underemployed Calgary professionals, Higher Landing and the business community who are committed to promoting the full utilization of Alberta’s high-caliber workforce.  The GoldMind Project, which takes place on December 7, will feature guest speakers such as:

  • Sebastian Sztabzyb – Co-founder, Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters
  • Mary Moran – President & CEO, Calgary Economic Development

Re-Engage Workshops

The Re-engage Program is led by Calgary Economic Development and Alberta Human Services,  and is a series of workshops designed to support laid-off professionals and skilled trades as they re-engage for future work opportunities. Events like this are also a great opportunity to hear from inspiring guest speakers who can share stories of their hard times and successes.
