For the CPA Education Foundation, our commitment to providing support to students, accounting educators, and post-secondary institutions involves continuously finding new venues to build the profession and help aspiring CPAs.
The Foundation’s new No Limits initiative seeks to help Aboriginal Albertans achieve their career goals in accounting and business, and increase the number of Aboriginal CPAs in Alberta. Our two-year fundraising campaign will provide funds to:
- Offer scholarships and awards to Indigenous Albertans pursuing recognized business and accounting degree programs at Alberta post-secondary institutions;
- Partner with a provincial association that supports Indigenous Albertans seeking educational or employment opportunities in accounting or related business fields; and
- Connect with Indigenous centres at Alberta post-secondary institutions to help deliver services for Indigenous students in business and accounting programs.
The outpouring of generosity from CPAs from all over Alberta has inspired us to raise the stakes and double our original goal for The Alex Tutschek Challenge fundraising campaign for No Limits. From now until December 31st, members’ donations to the No Limits initiative will be matched up to a total of $20,000 by Alex Tutschek FCPA, FCA, former Chair of the Foundation and longtime donor. That’s $20,000 at Alex’s expense to raise a total of $40,000 for the No Limits initiative!
