Every year the CPA Education Foundation looks to recognize a person or persons who have made a significant contribution to the work and goals of the Foundation by awarding them the CPA Education Foundation Impact Award. This year, the Foundation will be accepting nominations for the award until January 15, 2020.
The most recent Impact Award recipient, Brian Hesje FCPA, FCA, a prominent business leader and 2017 CPA Alberta Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, provided an unprecedented $1 million donation to the Foundation. His gift is being used to establish the Hesje CPA Knowledge Centre, a virtual hub for the production and distribution of print, digital, and online resources featuring Alberta CPAs sharing their expertise on a wide range of topics.
Do you know someone like Brian who is deserving of recognition? In order to qualify, the nominee must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- be actively involved in the Alberta business/accounting community, or have a record of past involvement;
- have significant impact in enhancing the success of the Foundation in achieving its mission and vision (e.g. helping to promote and/or fundraise for projects, making a substantial donation, volunteering time to activities, encouraging colleagues to contribute to the Foundation through time or financial support and advocating for Foundation initiatives); and
- demonstrate the ability to be considered a role model for other Alberta CPAs (or business leaders).
Past members of the CPA Education Foundation Board of Governors will be considered for this award only if they have been out of their role as CPA Education Foundation Board Member for more than two (2) years.
