Board Chair Curtis Palichuk shares that Geeta Tucker, member of the Board, will be moving on to an exciting new career opportunity.
On behalf of the entire CPA Alberta Board, I am happy to inform Alberta CPAs that one of our Board members will be moving on to an exciting new career opportunity. Geeta Tucker FCPA, FCMA, an elected member of our Board since September 2017, has recently informed the Board that she has accepted the position of President and CEO of CPA Manitoba. She will officially move into that position on April 23.
All of us on the Board are very happy for Geeta. And, we are grateful that in her new position, she will continue to bring her contributions and insights to the evolution and growth of the CPA profession across Canada. In my view, our colleagues in Manitoba are very lucky to have Geeta assume the leadership of CPA Manitoba, bringing to the role her wealth of experience and her demonstrated commitment to the profession.
The unfortunate part of this for us is that, as a result of accepting her new position, Geeta has tendered her resignation from the CPA Alberta Board. The vacancy her resignation creates will be filled in the Board election coming up later this year.
On behalf of the CPA Alberta Board and staff, and all Alberta CPAs, I want to thank Geeta for her many years of contributions to the profession here in Alberta, and I congratulate her on her new appointment. I also look forward to working with Geeta and her team in Manitoba in the months and years ahead.
