Alberta Securities Commission’s 2017 Corporate Finance Disclosure Report is now available

The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) released its 2017 Corporate Finance Disclosure Report. This is a valuable resource for CPAs working for or with publicly-traded companies. The report outlines the ASC’s observations regarding disclosure provided by Alberta reporting issuers (RIs) over the past year. It includes relevant examples and reminders that will help RIs deliver the highest quality disclosure and financial reporting.

The report also provides insight of evolving requirements and emerging issues, the ASC’s areas of focus in 2017, and common deficiencies identified by ASC during its review of continuous disclosure and offering documents.

The ASC will also hold information sessions related to this topic. These information sessions will also include information on the ASC’s Oil & Gas Review. The sessions are being held:

  • January 24, in Calgary
  • January 25, in Edmonton (pending adequate registration)

There is also a related webinar, scheduled for January 24. Information and registration details are posted on their website.
