During September and October, CEO Chief Executive Officer Rachel Miller CPA, CA visited a number of centres across the province—in Calgary, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Edmonton, and Lloydminster—to connect to and update Alberta CPAs on the accounting profession and the work of CPA Alberta. More than 600 CPAs in total registered to learn more about CPA Alberta’s priorities, plans for the future, and to provide feedback and have their questions answered.
The sessions included an update on CPA Alberta’s work towards its five strategic priorities, contributions to the professional nationally, and overview of recent projects, including the “Ask A CPA” video series. Most importantly, the CEO Town Halls provided an opportunity for Alberta CPAs to provide their thoughts and feedback directly to Rachel. A special thanks to all Alberta CPAs who attended, asked questions, and engaged with their professional organization—and who provided great suggestions, such as posting a summary of board decisions in Daily Dividends!
The CEO Town Halls are an annual event, and the intention is to visit a number of centres throughout the province each year. Watch for the CEO Town Halls to come to a new set of locations in 2019!
