Alberta CPAs, you play a key role in helping CPA Alberta protect the public by serving on its Board and various committees, and you know firsthand how rewarding volunteering for the profession can be. Want to share that experience with your non-CPA friends and colleagues? Then encourage them to apply for the public member position on CPA Alberta’s Practice Review Committee (PRC)!
After each practice review conducted by CPA Alberta, the PRC determines whether each professional or public accounting practice complies with the rules of professional conduct and practice standards. Practice reviews are essential for promoting high standards and maintaining and improving the competence of the accounting profession.
Public members on the PRC and other CPA Alberta committees help ensure additional accountability for the profession and further protect the public by contributing a very valuable independent and objective perspective on the organization’s regulatory activities.
This is a great opportunity for someone to learn more about the CPA profession and gain valuable experience as a public member for a professional regulatory organization. If you know of someone who has familiarity with accounting standards and financial statements; great analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills; and a reputation for integrity and excellence, please share the posting with them and encourage them to apply by Friday, July 17!
