The Registration Committee is established in accordance with section 33 of the Chartered Professional Accountants Act (Act). In accordance with the Act, the Registration Committee must consider and decide on application for registration, including imposition of conditions or restrictions on a registration. Registrants identified under the Act include CPAs, candidates, professional accounting firms, professional corporations, and professional service providers. Other registrant-related categories include pre-approved program route providers, limited liability partnerships, and specialists.
In addition to the general duties under the Act, the Registration Committee will monitor, recommend, and establish registration policy and administrative practice. The Registration Committee is empowered to advise the Board on relevant strategy and policy matters for consideration and possible implementation by CPA Alberta.
We are currently in need of volunteers from the profession for our Registration Committee. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Registration Committee, you can send your CV or bio to firstname.lastname@example.org.
