CPA profession announces changes to Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance

The CPA profession is announcing updates to the Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance (ACAF).

Designed by the Canadian CPA profession, the ACAF is a unique, next-generation certificate for individuals aspiring to elevate their accounting and finance skills to an intermediate level. Across the country, the CPA profession has partnered with accredited post-secondary institutions to deliver ACAF programs and courses, while a standardized national final examination is administered by the CPA profession.

ACAF was originally offered through the profession itself—here in Alberta, it was done through the CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB)—however; beginning in January 2018 select post-secondary institutions (PSIs) across Canada will begin delivering the full suite of ACAF courses, while CPAWSB will continue to offer the ACAF technical courses as part of CPA preparatory courses. In Alberta, ACAF Programs will be delivered by Athabasca University, NAIT JR Shaw School of Business, and SAIT School of Business.

If you know someone who could benefit from this intermediate level credential, you can learn more here or get in touch with the CPA Alberta Business Development team at gettingstarted@cpaalberta.ca.
