Elevate 2019 is underway

The CPA profession’s signature series of events is currently underway across Alberta. So far, there have been a number of exciting moments, as evidenced by the photos below from some of the great activities that have already taken place. Up next, Alberta CPAs “Elevate Their Minds” at the full-day PD conference on June 7, and then move on to a night of celebration and recognition at the CPA Elevate Awards Gala on June 8.

While this year’s registration has closed, it’s never too early to mark your calendar for Elevate 2020! Next year’s Elevate will be a big one! To mark the fifth anniversary of the CPA profession in Alberta, we’re going to literally take Elevate to new heights: to the magnificent Fairmont Banff Springs! Elevate 2020 will take place from May 28 to 31, 2020 in Banff and promises to be the biggest bash yet. Watch out for more details later in the year. In the meantime, here’s what’s been going on at this year’s festivities.

CPAs got the chance to learn about different tequilas & mezcals from expert Eric Paul—all while mingling with fellow CPAs at CRAFT in Edmonton at the Elevate Networking Event.


Matt Cairns, owner of Renew Physiotherapy + Exercise clinic in Edmonton, instructing CPAs at the Elevate CPA Assist Fitness Lunch Session in Edmonton. Matt addressed common issues with office workspace & provided key takeaways on neck & back pain.


Chrissy McGale CPA, CGA led an Elevate CPA Assist Fitness Lunch Session on the benefits of mindfulness & finding balance through meditation & yoga practices. CPAs in Edmonton got the chance to practice some of the techniques!


CPA Alberta’s SVP, Regulatory, Joe Hunder and CPA Canada’s Chief Economist Francis Fong are all smiles after the CPA Elevate Breakfast in Edmonton. Francis delivered an informative presentation on major trends impacting global, US, & Canadian economies.


CPA Elevate Volunteer Days are taking place across Alberta. Pictured here, CPAs bagged 1600+ lunches at Brown Bagging For Calgary Kids. Other volunteer locations include Making Changes Association, Meals on Wheels, Emma House Garden, Habitat for Humanity, CUPS, Food Banks in various cities, The Mustard Seed, Alberta Reads, Ronald McDonald House, and the Lethbridge Interfaith Food Bank.
