CPAs are in a enviable position to work with and observe outstanding leaders in business and the community. Do you know an outstanding leader who’s shaping the future through innovation, determination, and a commitment to success? Ensure they get the recognition they deserve. Each year prominent leaders are recognized and awarded for their hard work, dedication to their professions and contributions to charitable causes. Here are a few awards that any leader would be proud to show off in their office.

Canadian Business Leader Award (CBLA)

Nominations are now open for the University of Alberta School of Business 2017 Canadian Business Leader Award!

This year, over 800 individuals joined the University of Alberta in Edmonton to celebrate 2016 CBLA recipient Monique F. Leroux, Chair of the Board, President, and CEO of Desjardins Group. Your nominee could join the ranks of such distinguished leaders as Ms. Leroux, Darren Entwistle, TELUS President and CEO and Jim Pattison, Chairman, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Group.

Distinguished Business Leader Award (DBLA)

The Distinguished Business Leader Award is both a celebration of ethical leadership and a legacy to support future leaders. Co-presented by the Haskayne School of Business and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, the award has recognized outstanding leaders in the Calgary business community since 1993. Since its inception, it has served to honour exemplary Calgarians for their outstanding personal and professional achievements, commitment to community and business acumen.

On June 22 the Haskayne School of Business will celebrate 2016 recipient Sam Kolias at the awards dinner. Sam is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board at Boardwalk Rental Communities.

CPA Alberta Achievement Awards

The CPA Alberta Achievement Awards recognize individuals whose achievements in their career, the community, and the profession have brought honour to the profession. Recognition is given in four categories: Lifetime Achievement, Fellows of the Chartered Professional Accountants, Distinguished Service, and Early Achievement. There are three categories open to nomination from the membership:

*Lifetime Achievement Awards are determined by the CPA Alberta Board of Directors and are not open to nomination from the membership.
