A reminder that the votes for four new members of the CPA Alberta Board and on proposed changes to the CPA Alberta Rules of Professional Conduct are now open. Voting is open until Tuesday, September 24 at 12:00 noon (MDT).
For more information on the eleven candidates running for the Board and the proposed changes to the Rules, visit cpaalberta.ca/vote2019. To go directly to casting your ballot, log in to the CPA Alberta website “member portal” here. If you have forgotten your CPA Alberta website password, use the “Forgot your password?” link on the left-hand side of the login menu.
You are encouraged to vote for the candidates you feel would best serve the profession. You may also wish to consider that the CPA Alberta Governance Committee has identified the following competency areas and demographic characteristics of a candidate that would strengthen the expertise of the CPA Alberta Board and better balance the profile of the board to reflect the membership at large:
- Be a resident of Northern Alberta outside of the Edmonton area
- Have the perspective of a professional accounting (public practice) practitioner from a small- to medium-sized firm
- Have extensive governance experience, possibly including an ICD.D. designation
- Possess government relations skills and experience
Have your say in the future of the profession—vote!
Results of the vote will first be announced at the 2019 CPA Alberta Annual General Meeting.
